I prefer to do family shoots in natural light, outside if possible. Nature provides the best light and settings. I normally choose a location for the shoot, preferably in the Paarl area. Shoot time is 1-2 hours. Clothing tips are easy – plain and pastels. Pastels like – mint, coral, yellow, pink, blue. Earthy tones – duck egg, white, grey, beige. Choose plain clothing without patterns or logo’s as it tends to distract the eye away from person’s face.

A newborn shoot should ideally happen within the first 12 days after birth. This type of shoot is done in the comfort of the client’s home. The style of the shoot is lifestyle – no studio setup or themed props, just your newborn, you and your home. I capture it as it is on the day, raw and real. I provide tips for parents on what to wear, what to expect, time duration, what baby must wear, what to have ready for baby etc.
